    OIC welcomes truce extension in Yemen

    In response to the announcement by UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the extension of the current truce for two months. The General Secretariat of the OIC stated that it appreciates the efforts of the Special Envoy. It hopes that the truce will be fully implemented and consolidated to create the conditions for a sustainable political solution to the conflict in Yemen. This will be in response to the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

    OIC welcomes truce extension in YemenThe General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has reiterated its support for Yemen. This is because it is committed to alleviating the suffering of its people and achieving its aspirations for security, peace, stability and development. The OIC is the second largest organization after the UN with a membership of 57 states spread over four continents. It represents the Muslim world’s collective voice. In the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony among different cultures of the world, it works to promote the interests of the Muslim world.
